Avnet Memec and Sierra Wireless Expand Distribution Agreement to Spain and Portugal

Avnet Memec, the highly specialised semiconductor distributor of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA, announced today the expansion of its distribution agreement with Sierra Wireless. The strategic collaboration will be expanded to Iberia, enabling Avnet Memec to distribute Sierra Wireless AirPrime™ embedded modules in Spain and Portugal. Avnet Memec is already selling Sierra Wireless products in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom.
Sierra Wireless offers the broadest line of embedded wireless modules in the industry, meeting a wide range of customer needs for mobile computing and machine-to-machine communications, including the demanding requirements of manufacturers and service providers building automotive, smart grid, security and point-of–sale solutions. The AirPrime embedded wireless module portfolio includes 2G, 3G, and 4G products in a variety of form factors, with advanced functions such as embedded SIM, application hosting, and the ability to remotely monitor and upgrade the modules.
