Avnet Memec, the highly specialised semiconductor distributor of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA, announced today that it has extended its distribution partnership with Luminary Micro. The new agreement will be immediately effective for Germany, Italy, France, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland and UK. With the extension into these European key markets Avnet Memec is strengthening its (32-bit) microcontroller portfolio.

As the first company to introduce Cortex-M3-based microcontrollers to the market, Luminary Micro provides a cost-effective way for designers to upgrade system architectures by utilizing 32-bit performance for the same price as an 8- or 16-bit microcontroller. The broad line of mixed-signal microcontrollers offered by Luminary Micro have specialized capabilities for energy, security and connectivity market applications. Luminary Micro products provide unique Internet Protocol (IP) for motion control applications, real-time connectivity, intelligent analog functionality and power conservation.
