A1360/1/2 EXTREMELY LOW NOISE, PROGRAMMABLE LINEAR HALL-EFFECT SENSORS WITH USER ADJUSTABLE BANDWIDTH FOR HIGH CURRENT SENSING

The A1360/1/2 are fully programmable, low noise, very high bandwidth, linear Hall-effect sensors available in a thin, 4-leaded SIP (KT). The accuracy of these devices is enhanced via programmability on the device output pin. A capacitor to ground on the Filter Pin of the A136x can be used to tune the device bandwidth in a range from 50kHz to less than 100Hz. These ratiometric Hall effect sensors provide a voltage output that is proportional to the applied magnetic field. The quiescent output voltage is user adjustable to 50% (bidirectional) or 10% (unidirectional) of the supply voltage (VCC). Each device has a guaranteed, programmable, sensitivity range: 0.7 to 1.4 mV/G (A1360), 1.5 to 4.5 mV/G (A1361) and 4.5 to 16 mV/G (A1362).

Each BiCMOS monolithic circuit integrates a Hall element, improved temperature-compensating circuitry to reduce the intrinsic sensitivity drift of the Hall element, a small-signal high-gain amplifier, a clamped low-impedance output stage and a proprietary dynamic offset cancellation technique. The temperature coefficient of these devices is programmed and locked to 0 %/ºC at Allegro’s end of line test for enhanced device accuracy over temperature.

The features of this linear Hall effect family make these sensors ideal for high accuracy requirements in automotive and industrial current sensing applications. Device specifications are guaranteed over an extended temperature range, -40 ºC to 150 ºC. The 136x sensors are provided in a 1mm 4-pin single inline package (KT suffix).

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Customer programmable offset and sensitivity: The sensor can be fine tuned in the application
  • Factory trimmed 0 %/°C Sensitivity
  • Temperature Coefficient (TC): Ideal for current sensing (i.e. no magnet)
  • QVO selectable for 10% or 50% of Vcc: Can be used for unidirectional or bidirectional sensing
  • Sensitivity ranges of 0.7 to 1.4 mV/G (A1360), 1.5 to 4.5 mV/G (A1361) and 4.5 to 16 mV/G (A1362): Wide programmable range allows greater system design flexibility
  • Device bandwidth selectable between .1kHz to 50 kHz: Can be used in high-frequency applications or can have more noise filtering for low-frequency applications
  • Output voltage clamps: Provides diagnostics capability
