The PA90 Series of power amplifiers from the Apex Precision Power product family features four models offering various combinations of very high output current, high supply voltage, and high speed. All benefit from a complementary MOSFET design that incorporates the use of large N-channel and P-channel power die with an ability to handle demanding loads. Compared with other more discrete-oriented linear solutions, the PA92 and PA93 can provide very high output current without the use of large, external MOSFETs, while the PA90 and PA91 lend designers exceptional slew rate performance.
The PA9x is a high voltage, low quiescent current MOSFET operational amplifier designed as a low cost solution for driving high continuous and pulse output currents:
- PA90-91: continuous currents up to 200mA and pulse currents up to 350mA.
- PA92: continuous output currents up to 4A and pulse currents up to 7A.
- PA93: continuous output currents up to 8A and pulse currents up to 14A
The safe operating area (SOA) has no second breakdown limitations and can be observed for all type loads by choosing an appropriate current limiting resistor. The MOSFET output stage is biased AB for linear operation. External compensation provides flexibility in choosing bandwidth and slew rate for the application. APEX’s Power SIP package uses a minimum of board space allowing for high density circuit boards. The PowerSIP package is electrically isolated.
