PA107DP Features Industry First 3000 V/µs Slew Rate
MP103FC Dual Channel Amplifier Delivers 15 A X 2

The new PA107DP and MP103FC join the Apex Precision Power® product family of high-voltage, high-speed power amplifiers for the piezoelectric driver market. The PA107DP is capable of slew rates up to 3000 V/µs, which raises the bar for single-package hybrids. It’s an attractive option for medical imaging, ultrasound applications and programmable power supplies. The MP103FC is a new dual-channel designed hybrid that can deliver a very high 15A x 2 of output current in combination with speeds up to 180 V/µs. It features the industrial temperature range “open frame” packaging form factor and is targeted for driving piezo print heads in large format industrial ink jet printers. Both devices are operational with voltage supplies of up to 200 V.

The PA107DP is a 200 V power amplifier that delivers industry-first performance for a single-package hybrid with its high speed 3000 V/μs capabilities. This raises the bar 3X versus its nearest competitor, which just happens to be the legacy product PA85, also from the Apex Precision Power product family. With 1.5A of continuous output current, the PA107DP also bests the PA85 which is a 450V, 200mA, 1000V slew rate hybrid power amplifier house in a metal, hermetically sealed TO-3 package which offers solid thermal management. The PA107DP exhibits similar thermal performance with its smaller 12-pin Power SIP (single inline package) that requires less than 2 inches square of board space. Advantages over a home-grown discrete solution, are proven device reliability, repeatability of performance and time to market.

Whereas the PA107DP offers significant improvement for piezo drivers with its focus on high speed and high current, the MP103FC delivers new levels of performance in the areas of current and voltage. And it does so by incorporating two channels in its industrial temperature range “open frame” packaging form factor that lowers per unit cost in comparison with a hermetically sealed hybrid. Rated at 15A PEAK per channel, the 200V MP103FC fills a performance gap in terms of output current between the Apex PA78 product series and the open frame MP108 which range between 150 mA and 10 A of continuous output current.
