Cirrus Logic CS4354 - 101dB Stereo DAC with 2Vrms Line Output from 5V
The CS4354 is a 24-bit, 192kHz stereo audio D/A converter with an on-chip 2Vrms line driver working from a single 5 V power supply. This new DAC is a more integrated version of the CS4352, which required a 9 to 12V power supply, and also a low cost version of the CS4353.
Based on a charge pump architecture, the CS4354 outputs a 2VRMS voltage without the need for high voltage regulator. The CS4354 also features a ground-centered output architecture, removing the need for external DC blocking capacitors and any pop prevention circuit. Therefore, this new generation DAC greatly reduces the amount of external component count while making the design simpler.
The CS4354 is ideal for any application that requires a line-level output and is cost-sensitive. Target applications are mainstream consumer products such as DTV, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, video game consoles, DVD players and recorders, personal video recorders (PVRs), DVD receivers, etc.
