As electronic communication devices become smaller, compact components are required to meet the space constraints inherent to these designs. HALO is proud to introduce their new line of Low Profile FastJack™ Ethernet connectors for applications with component heights that preclude the use of standard magnetic jacks. The Low Profile FastJack implements a unique construction designed to fit in applications with a maximum clearance of 10 mm (0.394”) above the PCB, such as the Common Mezzanine Card defined in IEEE1386 and the PCI Mezzanine Card defined in IEEE1386.1. Mechanical stability is ensured with mounting pegs and shield posts that secure the Low Profile FastJack to the PCB. The highly reliable contact design from HALO’s standard FastJack has been incorporated in this Low Profile family. Optional panel grounding is also available. The Low Profile FastJack is available with magnetics for 10BASE-T, 10/100BASE-TX, 10/100 w/POE and Gigabit Ethernet. Optional LED’s are available for all circuits. Standard colors include Green, Yellow and Orange. Non-standard colors as well as bi-color LED’s are also available. Samples are available – please contact your local Avnet Memec sales office.
