QP Semiconductor and e2v company, the leading fabless manufacturer of hermetic high reliability ICs, today announced the release of the QP741 and QP747 Operational Amplifiers. These products are fully re-engineered and manufactured on a mainstream Bipolar process and serve as drop-in replacements for the National/ Fairchild LM741 used in key Mil/Aero applications.

The QP741 is a monolithic single purpose operational amplifier and the QP747 is sourced from the same design to provide the dual functional capability. Both products have been qualified and are now listed on the DSCC 38510/101 drawing. The 741 remains one of the most popular operational amplifiers ever produced and it continues serving a very broad installed base in many military programs. Forecasts signal that market inventories of these military grade devices will deplete within the near-term. QP is positioned to be the sole supplier of these devices for several critical defence programs that are experiencing continued demand, including the Patriot Missile System. QP now offers over 400 designs which affirms their market position as the premier supplier of mission critical drop-in replacements, mitigating threats of IC obsolescence and reducing the total overall cost to customers.

The QP741 and QP747 are now available in production quantities and hermetic package styles.
