Supporting the recently launched 78K0/Lx3 8-bit LCD microcontroller family
SEE-IT! adds to the existing range of microcontroller starter kits from NEC Electronics, designed to deliver customers with a complete out-of-the-box experience when selecting an appropriate microcontroller.
The 78K0/Lx3 series of 8-bit LCD microcontrollers deliver a class leading combination of liquid crystal display (LCD) controllers/drivers on-chip and extremely low power consumption. Designers can benefit by having LCD control from 88 to 288 segments, 10-bit SAR ADC, 16-bit DS ADC, Real Time Clock (RTC), internal 8MHz
high speed oscillator, a new optimised circuit design that cuts standby power consumption by 50 percent compared to 78K0/Lx2.
With a range of 46 devices in 48 to 80 pin packages, and 8KB to 60KB of SuperFlash® Flash memory, designers have the ability to choose the best microcontroller for the task.
The new SEE-IT! kit includes the 80-pin 78K0/LF3 device with 60KB of Flash and 2KB of RAM. Several peripheral functions are also mounted on the board including a 224 segment LCD, temperature sensor, infrared remote control receiver, reference voltage circuit, buzzer, 4-way mini joystick, DIP switches and a prototyping area. The kit also contains 4KB code limited version of IAR Embedded Workbench software development tools and several simple demonstration programs. The starter kit can be powered and the demonstration programs loaded using the on-board USB port, the port can also be used as communication-, programming- and debugging-interface.
