The Shine It! Evaluation Kit from NEC is based on the world's first MCU with integrated multichannel High Brightness LED drivers  - the uPD78F8024. It allows easy development of intelligent code for high-power LED lighting applications. Compact yet flexible and functionally versatile, the board can be used to drive four channels of single or multiple high-power LEDs in a variety of configurations.  The board also can be used to control and dim individual LED channels by means of analog and digital sensor inputs, such as temperature, light and colour. Various serial communication protocols are supported by this board, including I2C, SPI, RS-232, DALI and  RS-485/DMX-512.

Users can configure the board, generate the code and program easily using the free of charge Applilet EZ software tool which is also provided.
