Renesas RX200 Series High-Performance Low Power 32-Bit MCU

Renesas‘ RX200 series of 32-bit microcon- trollers complements the RX600 family, offering a market leading combination of power consumption, low voltage operation and performance, combined with a range of new and innovative peripheral features, designed to make the next generation of low power applications possible. The RX200 series has been designed to provide a solu- tion to the next generation of low power applications. The low voltage process of the RX200 family offers operation down to 1.62 V (including Flash W/E) while the core consumes only 0.2 mA/MHz (only 1.3 uA with RTC).
One of the strengths of the RX200 is the wealth of safety and reliability features built into the device. These range from an automatic accuracy check function the on chip oscillators, to the possibility of the hardware to check the function of various peripheral’s such as the I/O and the ADC, and, of course, the standard functions such as window watchdog timers, with dedicated oscillators, low voltage detection systems and POR.
The first members of the RX200 series offer memory sizes from 128…512 kBytes
of on-chip Flash with up to 64 kBytes of on- chip SRAM and package sizes ranging from 64…100 pin. Future members of the RX200 family will offer Flash sizes up to 1 MByte with up to 96 kBytes of on-chip SRAM.
The RX200 provides an ideal, high performance solution for the next generation of applications, offering integration of support for IEC60730 including window WDT, CRC, March X support & self test functions, timer for motor control (MTU2), enhanced communications functionality (USB, RSPI, I2C), deterministic real time hardware event handling using the event link controller, and enhanced calculation facilities like on-chip DSP functions to handle multiply- and-accumulate.
