Silicon Labs has enhanced the ToolStick evaluation tool with a full development platform in a USB stick. This new device takes tools evaluation a step further and allows full development capability with separate common base adapters and interchangeable daughter boards:

• ToolStick Starter Kit
  The ToolStick Starter Kit is a complete development system that contains a ToolStick Base Adapter and an interchangeable C8051F330 MCU Daughter Card. The Starter Kit also includes a Terminal PC application that provides access to UART and GPIO functions on the target MCU.

• ToolStick Base Adapter
  The ToolStick Base Adapter provides a USB debug interface and data communications path between a Windows PC and a target microcontroller. The Base Adapter is USB powered and also provides power to the daughter cards. The target microcontroller and application circuitry are located on the daughter card. The base adapter is not functional without a daughter card.

• ToolStick C8051F330 Daughter Card
  The external circuitry on the C8051F330 daughter card includes two LEDs, a potentiometer and a prototyping area that provides access to all of the pins of the device. The daughter card is not functional without a base adapter.

• ToolStick C8051F530 Daughter Card
  The C8051F530 daughter card is the fastest and easiest way to begin development with the C8051F53x family of MCUs. It provides convenient access to all of the I/O pins. Additionally, it has an LIN transceiver and an external connector that enables the user to prototype a design and connects directly into an existing LIN bus.

• ToolStick Debug Adapter
  The ToolStick debug adapter, in conjunction with a ToolStick Base Adapter, provides an interface between the PC's USB port and the target device's in-system debug/programming circuitry. The ToolStick Debug Adapter can be used to program and debug a standard Silicon Laboratories MCU development board.
