SMSC Release New Range of Industrial Ethernet Switches

Now, designers have a single supplier for a variety of networking products designed to work with a broad range of device architectures.
The new LAN931x family of embedded Ethernet switches supports the ever-increasing growth of networked devices in home consumer electronics. These devices supply system designers with two- and three-port switching technology to solve network connectivity requirements using both 16 and 32 bit non-PCI and MII interfaces. In addition to its feature-rich switching capability, SMSC has taken an active role in supporting industrial applications by incorporating the IEEE1588 Precision Time Protocol into its switch for time critical applications.
