Wi2Wi Announces new W2CBWGxx Family of WiFi/BT/GPS integrated Mini Card products
Wi2Wi, Inc., a leader in wireless solutions for embedded applications, announces the W2CBWGxx family, a new series of Wireless Sub-systems-on-a-card integrating multiple radios. The first two products in this family have WiFi-802.11b,g/BT-2.0/GPS and WiFi-802.11b,g/BT-2.0 onto a ½ size PCI Mini Card with the McCaslin Platform I/O pinout format.
The W2CBWGxx has been successfully deployed by leading customers in ultra mobile PC’s, industrial, and defense applications.
Wi2Wi’s Mini Card product was developed incorporating particular UMPC and MID requirements and is based on the Intel Menlow/McCaslin Platform/Atom Processor. The Mini Card is a fully integrated solution including MAC address storage, crystal, band pass filters, power amplifiers, decoupling capacitors, and only requires connection to a host processor, a single rail power supply power rail and an antenna. It is complete with separate Hiroshi antenna connectors for each RF path. Operating Temperature range is -20oC to +75oC. The WiFi and BT sections can be powered down separately, conserving valuable power in portable battery operated devices. The WiFi, BT, and GPS radio sections have simultaneous independent traffic during operation. Its standard set of interfaces allows it to be easily integrated into a variety of systems and platforms that require WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS functionality.
Software Drivers are available for the Atom Processor/Menlow Platform. The Mini Card can be used with any ARM 9/11 based processor with SDIO or GSPI interface, including but not limited to, PXA2xx, PXA3xx, i.MXxx, S3Cxxxx, OMAP24/25/35xx families. New software value-adds are in development.
The Mini Card family is fully calibrated and provides complete co-existence for operation of all three radios at the same time. The product is fully certified for FCC, ICES and RoHS.
The W2CBWG01/03 Mini Cards and evaluation boards are in full production and commercially available.
