New Z8F0830 MCU's in the eXtended Peripherials family
The specific setup of the internal peripherals allows the Z8F0830 to achieve high overall application performance.
The low conversion time of the SAR ADC's, linked to the comparator and the timers allow for fast three phase brushless DC motor control.
Conversion times are down to 11.9µs in the current device, going down to 2µs in the devices scheduled for release in July.
There is an internal voltage reference available, factory calibrated and fully programmable, while the ADC operation requires little overhead from the core as it generates an IRQ upon conversion.
Important for industrial applications, the devices have 5V tolerant IO's, an internal oscillator, are available in extended temperature range and have a 64Byte Non Volatile Data Storage area (100k write cycles emulated EEPROM).
Availability of low cost development tools (including free 'C' compiler) helps to reduce the overall system cost and design cycle (see Innovator issue 3)
