This application note delivers the theory how to set up a Power over Ethernet structure, and a reference design how to deliver power over the Ethernet link.

The reference design effectively demonstrates how to build Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) for PoE networks. 

Many solutions exist already today for the end-point side of the PoE structure (cfr Silabs Si3400 http://www.avnet-memec.eu/index.php?id=281), but here a low cost solution is offered for the power source of the network.
