Products

ZNEO™ Z16F Series of Flash microcontrollers represents ZiLOG’s evolution into 16-bit processing. The ZNEO Z16F CPU instruction set has been optimized for near single-cycle instructions yielding 15 MIPS at 20MHz. Combined with large zero wait state internal Flash, powerful math functions, 32-bit ALU supporting 8-, 16-, and 32-bit operations, embedded 32x32 multiply/64x32 divide operations, and 16-bit bus widths, the ZNEO Z16F delivers a powerful, yet cost effective microcontroller solution. The compiler-friendly instruction set supports multibyte push/pop framer pointer manipulation, so that code generation is very compact. A rich array of peripherals and analog features make this microcontroller suitable for a large number of applications from security panels to motor control. ZNEO is a natural migration path for high end Z8 Encore! customers.

To supplement its ever-expanding Flash microcontroller product line, ZiLOG also recently launched its new Z8 Encore! MC™ Flash MCU. These 8-bit microcontrollers are designed specifically for the middle- to high-end motor control markets. With on-chip peripherals such as an optimized PWM module, a fast A/D converter with time stamp, op amp, and multiple communication engines, the Z8 Encore! MC™ microcontrollers are being hailed as one of the best MCUs in the market for brushless DC motors.

Also ideal for motor control as well as general-purpose applications (like consumer appliances, sensor interfacing, personal electronic devices, battery charging, and security) is ZiLOG’s highly-acclaimed Z8 Encore! XP® family. This family is based on the original Z8 Encore!® eZ8® core, and features an extensive set of on-chip peripherals that are upwards compatible with the original Z8 Encore!® family. The Z8 Encore! XP® Series devices feature up to 8 channels of 10-bit A/D conversion differential input gain and transimpedance amplifier for current measurement. An on-chip temperature sensor allows die measurement over a range of -40° to +125°C. The devices support up to 18 vectored interrupts with programmable priorities, effectively increasing CPU bandwidth and increasing application flexibility.

The original Z8 Encore!® family also offers an extensive range of 8-bit multipurpose microcontrollers with up to 64KB of Flash memory, up to 4KB of SRAM, and a rich digital and analog peripheral set. This family marked the first Flash product for ZiLOG, and continues to grow in popularity amongst engineers and the design community due to its easy-to-use architecture and affordable tool set.

ZiLOG’s original Z8® 8-bit microcontroller families are also recognized by engineers worldwide for their ease-of-use, architecture, and competitive pricing. The four established Z8 product families are the Z8 Low Voltage, Z8 One-Time Programmable (OTP), Z8 ROM, and Z8 ROMless MCUs.
