Products

Parallel Flash

MPF™ is a cost-effective flash memory that addresses mainstream flash applications that require ISP (in-system programming). These products are offered in x8 or x16 organization at single 5.0V, 2.7-3.6V and 1.65-1.95V power-supply voltages. In addition to the standard read access speed of 70 ns, SST also offers high-speed, low-voltage MPF™ products with access times of 45 and 55 ns. All 39 Series products use JEDEC standard packages / pin-outs and command sets for ease of use.

Expanding on our Multi-Purpose Flash MPF™ product family, MPF+™ products include four major new features -- Erase Suspend/Erase Resume, Boot Block Write-Protection, Security ID and Hardware Reset -- critical for mobile phones, set-top boxes, as well as cable and DSL modems, high-end MP3 players, industrial equipment and other networking products. These products are offered in x8 or x16 organization at single 2.7-3.6V power-supply voltages, with read access speeds of 70 ns and 90 ns. All 39 Series products use JEDEC standard packages / pin-outs and command sets for ease of use.

MTP™ products combine the electrical eras-ability of flash with the cost effectiveness of EPROM / OTP's. They address EPROM/OTP and the low-end flash market that does not require ISP (in-system programming).

SSF™ is a cost-effective flash memory that brings to flash the flexibility of programming single Bytes and erasing small 128 Byte/256 Byte sectors. These products are offered in x8 organizations, at single 5.0V or 2.7-3.6V power-supply voltages.

CSF™ are multi-bank flash memory devices designed for wireless communication applications. The multi-bank architecture supports concurrent Read-While-Write operation, whereby the user may read from one bank while programming or erasing in the other bank

Serial Flash

Serial flash is a small, low-power flash memory that uses a serial interface for sequential data access. Serial flash uses fewer wires than parallel flash memories to transfer data to and from a system. A reduction in board space, power consumption and system cost are some of the benefits of the lower pin count interface for serial flash memories. The 25 Series family features an SPI compatible interface and pin-for-pin compatibility with industry standard SPI Serial EEPROM devices in densities from 512 Kbit to 16 Mbit. The 45 Series features a 4-wire serial interface with hardware Reset pin. Both families offer two footprint compatible packages, an 8-pin SOIC and 8-contact WSON (Ultra-thin Small Outline No-lead) for ease of density migration.

SST's Firmware Flash utilizes a six-wire synchronous nibble-wide data transfer interface, which complies with the standard Intel Low Pin Count (LPC) Interface specifications. SST's Firmware Flash Family of products are designed to store system BIOS in applications such as PCs, graphic cards, set-top boxes, network boards and other embedded CPU applications. The SST49LF00xA devices respond to Intel's proprietary FWH interface protocol used in the Intel 8xx Series Hub Architecture chipsets. The SST49LF0x0A LPC Flash devices respond to the LPC Memory Protocol specified in the standard Intel LPC Interface Specifications 1.0 and 1.1.

Embedded Controllers

SST’s 55 Series NAND Flash Disk Controllers provide designers with the maximum simplification of the interface between the host system’s bus and NAND flash media. The NAND Flash Disk Controller performs bad block management, bit error detection and correction, and flash media wear levelling -- all at maximum data throughput. These integrated controllers enable creation of NAND-based mass data storage products, removable or embedded, such as ATA-Disk Chips (ADC), ATA-Disk Modules (ADM), CompactFlash cards and small form factor solid state drives.

The SST65P542R is a member of SST’s 8-bit application specific microcontroller family targeted for infrared remote controller applications. The SST65P542R microcontroller provides high functionality to infrared remote controller products. The device offers flexibility to store different remote control configurations for controlling multiple appliances. The configurations are either programmed at the factory during the manufacturing process or downloaded through firmware.

SST’s Mobile Platform Controller is a catalyst for a wide range of space constrained, mobile PC platform & wireless internet computing applications requiring minimum power consumption. Its high level of integration increases reliability and reduces system costs. The Mobile Platform Controller integrates the functionality of three components of PC architecture. It combines a Mobile Keyboard and Pointing Device controller and a multi-channel Advanced Configuration and Power Management embedded controller plus 8Mb shared SuperFlash® firmware flash for System BIOS and KBC/EC firmware in a single chip. It can replace current two or three chip solutions.

The FlashFlex family includes embedded flash microcontroller products, which use the same powerful instruction set, have the same architecture, and are pin-for-pin compatible with standard 8xC5x microcontroller devices. The FlashFlex family offers SST's unique In-Application Programming (IAP), SoftPartition architecture (uniform small sector) and SoftLock security features. The microcontrollers are designed and manufactured to suite the high-reliability, high-flexibility, low-voltage and low-power requirements of today's computer peripherals, communication equipment, digital consumer products, and portable appliances.

NAND Flash Storage

The NANDrive integrated circuit (IC) is a high performance, fully integrated, embedded flash Solid State Drive. It contains an integrated ATA Controller and NAND Flash die in a multi-chip package. This product is well suited for embedded solid state mass storage applications offering new and expanded functionality while enabling cost effective designs.

The NANDrive is a single device, solid state drive that is designed for embedded systems using standard ATA/IDE protocol. It has built in microcontroller and file management firmware that communicates with ATA standard interfaces; therefore, the device does not require additional or proprietary software such as Flash File System (FFS) and Memory Technology Driver (MTD) software.

Communications ICs

Chips for 2.4 and 5-GHz GaAs Power Amplifiers. SST has successfully established its reputation as the leading vendor for high linearity and high efficiency power amplifiers for both 2.4 GHz (Bluetooth and 11g/b) and 5 GHz (11a) transceiver system applications.
