Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. designs, develops and sells semiconductor networking solutions for communications applications such as converged VoIP and data, and broadband optical transmission in enterprise, access, metropolitan and wide area networks.

 

The company's three key product families include High Performance Analogue transmission and switching solutions, IP Processing designed to support voice and data services across wireline and wireless networks, and WAN Communications solutions including T/E carrier, network processing and traffic management devices.

 

Mindspeed's products are used in a wide variety of network infrastructure equipment including voice and media gateways, high-speed routers, switches, access multiplexers, cross-connect systems, add-drop multiplexers and digital loop carrier equipment.

 

Mindspeed’s products for broadcast and professional video applications are based on the advanced architectures used in high speed optical networking devices to provide cost effective products that offer superior performance. The products are targeted at manufacturers that implement the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standards within their equipment. Typical applications include serial routing switchers, production switchers, and master control equipment. The products support data rates for the emerging 3Gb/s SDI as well high and standard definition TV (HDTV and SDTV).
